Where Do I Get My Parchment?
Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates are conferred three times a year. September 30, January 31, and May Convocation.
September or January Conferral
Students who are graduating in September or January can pick up their parchment package from the Registrar’s Office (HA 120) for 2 weeks after their conferral date. Parchment packages that are not picked up within the 2 weeks will be mailed via Canada Post (Signature Required) to the student’s current mailing address. The Registrar’s Office releases parchment packages only after the presentation of appropriate photo identification.
Parchment packages for the September and January conferrals include the student’s parchment, hood, and distinction cord (if applicable).
Please note: Students who are unable to pick up their degree package personally may give written authorization for a third party to do so. They must provide a letter of authorization which includes the legal name of the person collecting the parchment package. The Registrar’s Office releases parchment packages only after the presentation of appropriate photo identification.
May Conferral – Convocation Ceremony
The annual Convocation ceremony takes place each May. The specific date can be found in the Academic Schedule (Section 2.0) Students attending Convocation will receive their cap, tassel, hood, and distinction cord (if applicable) during the ceremony. Students who are graduating in May can pick up their parchment immediately after the Convocation ceremony. The Registrar’s Office releases parchment packages only after the presentation of appropriate photo identification.
If students are unable to attend Convocation, they can pick up their parchment package from the Registrar’s Office (HA 120) for 2 weeks after the ceremony date. Parchment packages that are not picked up within the 2 weeks will be mailed via Canada Post (Signature Required) to the current mailing address.
Parchment packages for the May Convocation include the student’s parchment, hood, cap, tassel, a copy of the Convocation program, and distinction cord (if applicable).

If fees, fines, or additional charges are owed, Concordia University of Edmonton may withhold the graduates’ parchment and/or transcripts. You can pay these through Online Services.
