An Important Part of CUE

Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) is located on the traditional territory of the Treaty Six Nations and the homeland of the Métis Nation of Alberta (Region IV). Historically, the lands which CUE occupies were utilized as a trading and gathering place for the Cree, Dene, Nakota Sioux, Blackfoot and the Métis. CUE is situated near the North Saskatchewan River and is one of the original Métis river lots in Edmonton.

Home Away from Home

The Indigenous Knowledge and Research Centre (IKRC) was launched in 2018 and aims to be a home away from home for Indigenous students, where they can connect, share, seek out support and contribute to a community.

A Flexible Space

Our space is an open concept, surrounded by windows where we feel connected to the land and the river valley. It is built with ventilation to accommodate smudging and other ceremonies as needed. There is flexible seating which can meet the needs of nearly any gathering.
