Interviewing Skills Workshop (Online)

If you’re getting ready for a practicum, internship, summer job, or a position after graduation, this workshop is designed for you. 

You’ll participate in mock interviews with feedback provided, learn to effectively present your personal story, identify common interview mistakes and how to avoid them, and craft strong responses to typical interview questions and scenarios.

Hellen Juma (MBA, B.ED, CPS.K)

Hellen is a certified Master LifeCoach  and Two-time Best-Selling Author who is dedicated to helping people advance in their careers. With an MBA in Strategic Management and HRM and a background in education, she brings a strong combination of business knowledge and coaching expertise to her current position as Career Coach at NorQuest College. Hellen has a proven track record in employment support. In her previous role at EmployAbilities, she assisted individuals facing employment challenges, including new immigrants. She developed training programs, organized workshops, and collaborated with job developers to ensure clients were well-equipped for their next career moves. Hellen is also skilled at building relationships with employers, conducting interviews, and creating training materials.

Lorraine Jonasi

Lorraine Jonasi is a seasoned economist and program manager with over two decades of experience in government policy, economic analysis, and stakeholder engagement. She currently serves as a Manager in Federal and Transit Funding Programs with the Government of Alberta, where she oversees the development and implementation of provincial and federal funding initiatives to advance transportation, public transit and water infrastructure priorities.
Throughout her career, Lorraine has demonstrated a strong commitment to professional development and mentorship. She has led training initiatives in the Government of Alberta, equipping professionals of Afro-Heritage with the skills and knowledge needed to integrate into and navigate their career development.

Lorraine holds an MSc in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of Alberta and a BSc (Honors) in Agricultural Economics from the University of Zimbabwe. With her extensive experience in government, research, and policy development, she brings a unique perspective to career readiness, particularly in preparing Black university students to excel in job interviews and professional settings.

She is passionate about empowering the next generation of professionals by sharing insights on effective communication, strategic positioning, and the importance of self-awareness in the job market and workplace.
