Location: room L266 (main floor of the Concordia library)
The Tutoring and Writing Centre is a free service that provides one-on-one tutoring and writing consultations for students, staff, and faculty. Appointments can be booked online. If an appointment for English or Writing is not in progress, drop-ins are welcome. Whatever your area of study, the Tutoring and Writing Centre is here to help you excel academically through effective writing and support in other various subjects.
Appointments are thirty minutes long. You may schedule up to two back-to-back appointments. If you would like feedback on your writing, please email a sample of your own writing in advance to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please also bring a printed copy of your writing sample to your appointment. Emailed writing samples are confidential and used only for appointments that they were submitted for. Finally, feel free to mention any specific concerns you might have about your writing, or any question(s) about writing in general, either when booking an appointment or during the appointment itself.
Appointments are sixty minutes long. You may not schedule up to two back-to-back appointments. There are a maximum amount of hours allotted for free tutoring, and once the hours have been used this service will no longer be available free of charge. Each student will receive a maximum of 5 tutoring sessions for the semester. Appointments must be booked 24 hours in advance. Please bring all course materials to your appointment. If something comes up and you are not able to attend the appointment, you must provide 24 hour notice. If sufficient notice is not provided for cancellation or you no show, you will lose all of your tutoring sessions for the semester and will not be able to book free tutoring. If the tutoring hours have been used or if you have used your 5 hours and require more tutoring, you can contact tutors through the tutor registry. If you need additional information, please contact Kelsey Hunden 780.491.6854. email@example.com
The Writing Centre is subject to the terms of academic honesty as outlined in Section 9.0 in the Concordia academic calendar. Staff will not edit or proofread students’ papers, but will help students to develop skills to improve their own writing.
