The Writing Centre and eTutor Alberta

There are two ways to seek professional tutoring in the area of writing at Concordia. The first option is the on-site Writing Centre, located in room L266, main floor library. The second option is an online (eTutor Alberta) support service.

About eTutor Alberta

eTutor is a consortium of public post-secondary institutions who have come together to provide free access to online professional tutoring in writing and math support. As a Concordia student you have the opportunity to create an account with eTutor Alberta. For more information or to create an account, follow the link provided. eTUTOR ALBERTA

NEW: BOOK APPOINTMENTS ONLINE!

The Writing Centre L266 (main floor of the Concordia library)

The Writing Centre is a free service that provides support for teaching and learning through writing for students, staff, and faculty.

Appointments

Throughout the academic year, we offer one-on-one consultations that can be booked online at: http://studyspaces.concordia.ab.ca. Appointments are thirty minutes long. You may schedule up to two back-to-back appointments. If you cannot keep your appointment, please cancel it online as soon as possible. If a consultation is not in progress, drop-ins are welcome. Please bring to your appointment either a *printed* sample of your own writing (such as a graded paper or a work-in-progress) or any question(s) you have about the writing process. Alternatively, email your writing sample to: writingcentre@concordia.ab.ca.

Academic Honesty

The Writing Centre is subject to the terms of academic honesty as outlined in Section 9.0 in the Concordia academic calendar. Staff may not offer “substantial editorial or compositional assistance," but will instead help students to develop the skills to improve their own work. Responsibility for work rests with the student.
