English Taught Tai Chi Classes
Chen Style Tai Chi class – You will gain a fundamental understanding of Tai Chi and be able to perform the entire routine Chen Style Tai Chi independently.
Tai Chi Sword Class – You will learn 32 Tai Chi Swordplay based on the Yang Style Tai Chi. With the sword, you will do different movements which require the body and limb’s co-ordination in a more definition of movement. This swordplay is simplified from the traditional forms which is easier for beginners.
Tai Chi Competition Sword Class -Tai Chi Sword 42 form is recognized as the competition form. Sword forms are the extension of bare-handed Tai Chi practice. It consists of movements derived mainly from the Yang and Wu style Tai Chi Sword routines.

The Chen Style Tai Chi, with its elegant, graceful, and circular movements, allows learners to relax while building harmony, coordination and balance in the body. Chen Style Tai Chi learning includes
- Proper warm up
- Theoretical and physical fundamentals as applied to doing Tai Chi properly
- Benefits of Tai Chi that can be applied to everyday life.
The Tai Chi Sword Class and Tai Chi Competition Sword Class support learners to develop more strength and skills in Tai Chi application.
Required Resources
• flat shoes – No runners because they are not flat. Cross training shoes are acceptable because they are flat.
• comfortable pants — No jeans. Elastic pants or shorts are acceptable.
• comfortable coats – Elastic coats or shorts are acceptable
Instructor
Shifu Raymond Ma, a certified instructor for Tai Chi and Kungfu, over 10 years’ experience teaching in Canada. Shifu Raymond Ma has 27 years of learning experience from his Tai Chi masters Luo Hong Yuan and Jennifer Gu. He has competed in many major international Tai Chi competitions, including two World Tai Chi championships representing Canada, two World Kung Fu championships as a member of Team Canada.
