Funke Olokude

Funke is a seasoned c-suite executive, intercultural relationship facilitator, and educator committed to shedding light on the intricate realities faced by underserved and underrepresented communities. With over fifteen years of extensive experience in the social service industry across Ontario, Quebec, and Alberta, Funke has consistently advocated for equity in both policy and practice, fostering transformative relationships within individuals and systems alike. She is deeply passionate about engaging with diverse forms of knowledge, leading her to contribute to over twenty Community-Based Research projects.

In 2020, Funke was recognized in Alberta’s Top 40 under 40 for her ongoing efforts in influencing policy and practice across various sectors. Additionally, her contributions to teaching and education earned her a Jaye Fredrickson Award for Teaching Excellence nomination in both 2021 and 2022. Furthermore, her leadership has been acknowledged through nominations for the 2022 Woman of Inspiration Award, the National Black Coalition of Canada (NBCC) Professional Excellence Award, and the Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal.

As the CEO & Principal Consultant at Hexagon Wellness Solutions and the President of the Nigerian Canadian Association of Edmonton, Funke also actively serves on the boards of the Bredin Centre for Career Advancement and the Black Business Ventures Association (BBVA).
