Dr. Alla Konnikov

Assistant Professor, Sociology

My expertise lies at the intersection of the sociology of work, international migration, and gender. I employ an intersectional lens to examine and explore how inequalities are produced and converge in organizational settings, including labor markets, professions, and workplaces. My research spans several distinct yet interrelated domains, studying women’s employment and career trajectories, immigrants’ skills transferability in professional fields, and most recently, the role of AI in transforming, reproducing, or mitigating inequalities in organizations, labor markets and hiring practices.

I have taught courses on the sociology of work, international migration, inter-group relations, and social statistics.
