Your Music Degree
You can choose to complete your music education at Concordia University of Edmonton with either a major (4-year) degree or a concentration (3-year degree) in Music.
Areas of study
You will study a range of subjects including applied music, music theory, arranging, composition, conducting, music history, church music, music therapy, music technology, ear training, and music pedagogy.
Private instruction
Experience and benefit from private instruction in voice, piano, classical guitar, saxophone, orchestral strings, brass, and woodwinds, organ, and percussion as well as Canada’s only post-secondary private instruction in handbell performance.
Program Focus
Our music programs are classically-focused and all music students are required to take courses that span all areas of music study chosen from a complete course listing.
In our 4-year program, you enrol in applied music courses, which include both private studio instruction and involvement in one of Concordia’s performing ensembles.
Program Outcomes
Our Music graduates are prepared for a variety of music-related occupations including performance and music instruction.
Many graduates also continue on to complete Concordia University of Edmonton’s Education After Degree program.
