Aimee Reimer
Sessional Instructor, Department of Psychology
I am a Registered Psychologist and work in a private practice in Edmonton. I am grateful the opportunities to teach at CUE in the Applied Emphasis Program to share my experiences in the field with students helping them to bridge theory and practice.
I draw from my over 15 years of experience as a Psychologist providing counselling to individuals, families and couples. In addition to my counselling work, I provide supervision to Registered Provisional Psychologists in Alberta. I have completed ongoing training with leading experts in supervision, and serve as the Chair of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta’s Supervision Community of Practice, where I work to support supervisors across the province regarding best practices, supervisory challenges, ethics and collaboration.
My stance in teaching is to empower students in their own learning. I believe that they have inherent strengths, and I work to create a space where they feel safe to learn and engage in self-development and reflection. I encourage them to read, ask questions, practice, receive constructive feedback and discuss as they continue to learn and grow in their role as aspiring professionals.
