The Department of Philosophy, Religious Studies, and Classics offers programs and courses that explore human thought, worldviews, literary traditions, and cultures of the past and the present. You will study some of the greatest minds and human communities in history, connecting with the past, illuminating the present, and providing understanding for the future. Through these studies you will develop and refine critical thinking, research, and communication skills–essential skills for living as well as working and serving in our society today.
 
 
Concordia University of Edmonton’s programs in philosophy, religious studies, and classics focus on the analysis of texts and other products of culture, informing our understanding of and dialogue with the diverse traditions of the world today. The department embraces faculty and students from diverse backgrounds, fostering engaging classes and studies that explore various points of view, with particular strengths in Christian traditions and the practices of interdisciplinary scholarship.
