Crystal Young
Sessional Instructor, Department of Psychology
Crystal Young is a sessional instructor in the Department of Psychology at Concordia University of Edmonton. Her academic and professional interests include: brain and behaviour, emotion and motivation, stress and stressors, psychological assessment, psychoneuroimmunology, health psychology, clinical psychology, positive psychology, and psychology and women’s health.
Her work is grounded in an integrative, evolving understanding of how biological, psychological, and social processes interact across the lifespan and across diverse cultural contexts.
With a strong emphasis on research-informed practice, Crystal brings clinical insight into the classroom, helping students connect theory to real-world ways of being. She is interested in how stress, emotion regulation, and motivation influence health, behaviour, and well-being, with attention to identity, culture, and lived experience.

Crystal is committed to fostering an educational environment that promotes independent thinking, ethical leadership, and a genuine passion for the study of psychology.
