Your Music Degree
You can choose to complete your music education at Concordia University of Edmonton with either a major (4-year) degree or a concentration (3-year degree) in Music.
Areas of study
You will study a range of subjects including applied music, music theory, arranging, composition, conducting, music history, church music, music therapy, music technology, ear training, and music pedagogy.
Private instruction
Experience and benefit from private instruction in brass, guitar, keyboard (piano and organ), percussion, strings, voice, or winds. Learn more about Music at CUE and our faculty.
Ensembles
Concordia is proud to invite students from all areas of study to audition for participation in our music ensembles. Our ensembles include the Concordia Concert Choir, and the Concordia Symphony Orchestra. We also offer smaller chamber music ensembles for music students who wish to focus on small ensemble work. All ensemble courses are offered for credit.
Program Focus
Our music programs are classically-focused and all music students are required to take courses that span all areas of music study chosen from a complete course listing.
In our 4-year program, you enroll in applied music courses which includes private studio instruction.
Program Outcomes
Our Music graduates are prepared for a variety of music-related occupations including performance and music instruction.
Many graduates also continue on to complete Concordia University of Edmonton’s Education After Degree program.
