Purpose and scope
Concordia University of Edmonton is proud to foster the commitment of our students and faculty to research, and provides opportunities for funding to support collaborative student-professor research activities. Student Research Grants are funding opportunities for actively enrolled students to engage in research activities with the support and mentorship of our faculty members.
CUE is in the process of updating the Student Research Grant Policy. Once it has been approved, the information in this section will be updated accordingly.
To learn about the deadlines for applications to the Student Internal Grant program, please consult this webpage. Applications are not accepted year-round.
Undergraduate students are now eligible to apply for up to $1,500 per year and Graduate students are eligible to apply for up to $2,000 per year. Eligible expenses are limited to the effective period of the award. For a list of eligible expenses, please consult this link. Retroactive expenses are not eligible. The start date of the award is the day of the closing of a competition (i.e., the deadline). This award does not constitute salary or stipend for a student, and cannot be used to pay for salaries or stipends for applicants or participants.
Use of research funds
Student Research Grants are most frequently used to cover travel expenses to present research findings at a conference, to cover some expenses related to a research project. If unsure, consult the Office of Research Services for eligibility of expenses.
Travel Expense Claims are processed by CUE Finance, but require Research Trust Compliance Review by the Office of Research Services. Please visit our webpage on Expense Claims to obtain more information on this process.
In particular for research projects in the Faculty of Science, contact Devin Hughes for information on how to process expenses related to an award.
Applications should be submitted to email@example.com.
