We know that moving to a new country is a big adjustment and it’s important to know you can find the support needed to make your time at CUE successful. Here are some suggestions on where to find the support you may need.
Student Life & Learning
Student Life and Learning offers a variety of services and learning resources to all CUE students. Some of the learning services provided include the Writing Center, Academic Strategies and the Tutor Registry.
Counselling Services
Counselling services are free to Concordia University of Edmonton students. Our counsellors offer short-term personal counselling and special group workshops for study skills, exam anxiety and time management. Students with disabilities can inquire about our Student Accessibility Services. If you’re in need of help academically, we urge you to first talk with your professors for advice and help in academic matters. Our smaller campus makes it possible for students to access instructor support.
The Writing Centre
The Writing Centre is a free service that provides one-on-one writing consultations for assignments in any course or program. It also offers tutoring for English courses.
The Writing Centre can help with a range of writing and English skills at any stage of your assignment or program.
Housing Support
Housing offers students support with locating housing in Canada! International students in particular will appreciate on-campus residence for the opportunity to foster new friendships and build a community connection on-campus after leaving the familiarity of their home to study in Canada.
Financial Aid & Awards
As a smaller university, Concordia University of Edmonton has a history of providing high quality education and a tradition of personal care for students. Planning ahead is the best way to put in place the financial resources to attend Concordia University of Edmonton. While students attending university on a study permit are not eligible for Canadian federal, provincial, and territorial financial assistance, CUE does offer some scholarships and bursaries for qualified international students after arriving.
Career Services
Career Services provides extensive career and employment related support to students, new graduates, alumni and employers. Services are available through one-on-one appointments, workshops and clubs and target career planning, personality testing, job search strategies, international internships, resume and cover letter writing, professional portfolio development, interview preparation, labour market information, bridging the school to work transition and connecting students with professionals and industry. Career Services helps students find career-related experience and offers networking opportunities with industry professionals, in addition to career and volunteer fairs. Employment and volunteer postings are also available through Career Services.
