Free Transportation from EIA to CUE Campus:

Fall 2022

The International Office is offering free shuttle transportation service from the Edmonton International Airport to Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) campus for new international students. This option is recommended for students who will be living in CUE residence.

If you are arriving in Edmonton by plane via the Edmonton International Airport from August 15 – September 2 between the hours of 10:00 am – 10:00 pm MT, you can register for free transportation to the CUE campus or another post-secondary campus location which includes MacEwan University, NorQuest College, NAIT, The Kings University, and University of Alberta.

This service is only available for shuttle service from EIA to participating campuses including CUE campus and for new international students to the Fall 2022 semester. 

To Register, complete the Airport Welcome Transportation Form. You need to register for this service a least 2 full business days before you leave your home country.

Please note: This service is only for new international students, anyone using the service that does not meet the criteria will be required to find alternative transportation.

How do I use this service?

  • Complete the Airport Welcome Transportation Form below.
  • Once you land at the Edmonton International Airport, please pick up your checked luggage and make your way to the arrivals level.
  • Visit the Airport Welcome Booth, which is open from August 15 – September 2 between the hours of 10:00 am – 10:00 pm MT and pick up a CUE bookmark as well as directions to the shuttle. The booth is hosted by current student volunteers from various schools in Edmonton, including CUE. Volunteers will be ready to help you navigate your first few hours in the city at make sure you have a place to go and rest.
  • You can take the free shuttle from the Edmonton International Airport to CUE campus or to a participating campus.
  • You can bring two pieces of luggage free of charge.
  • Shuttles only run from August 15 – September 2 between the hours of 10:00 am – 10:00 pm Mountain Time (MT). If you will be living in CUE residence and will arrive to campus after 4:30 pm MT on your movie-in date, please make sure you have contacted Housing Services housing@concordia.ab.ca to notify them of your arrival time to campus.
  • If CUE campus is not your destination or you have selected a different campus as your drop off location, you will need to arrange for transportation to your final destination. You must ask the shuttle driver to call a taxi for you to get to your destination. You will be responsible for transportation costs for the remainder of your journey.
    • Attention: Students who will be arriving after business hours (after 4:30 pm) should not register for the shuttle service. We recommend students to seek alternative options such as using a taxi from EIA into Edmonton, for more information please see below.

Living off campus? There are other ways to get to your new home:

The Edmonton International Airport is about 30 kilometres outside the city of Edmonton. There are a few ways you can get from the airport to your home.

  • Taxi: You do not need to call for a taxi by telephone, taxis normally are waiting for travelers in need of transportation. The waiting area for taxis is located curbside outside Door 9, on the Arrivals level, you may wait in line for the next available taxi. Taxi costs range from about $28 – $92 to get from the airport to Edmonton depending on the zone your final destination is located, please view transportation rate here.
  • Public Transportation: Take the 747 bus to Century Park Station (LRT). From there you can transfer to the Light Rail Transit (LRT) or the bus system throughout the city. 747 tickets are $5 one way, and then you will need a regular ETS ticket ($3.50) for the rest of your journey.

  • Pick up: If you know someone in Edmonton who will be picking you up at the airport, the passenger pick-up area is located on the lower ramp on the Arrivals level.
