Management Program Attributes
Highest Quality Education
The Globe & Mail’s student-rated University Report Card evaluates universities across Canada according to criteria known to affect the quality of a student’s university education. We’ve achieved the highest rating possible for quality of education, class size and instructor knowledge of a subject matter to make Concordia a wise choice for an increasing number of business students.
National Research and Employer Input into Design
The National Council on Leadership and Conference Board of Canada cite the need for graduates with leadership training. Concurrently, the Alberta Government has reported that employer demand for graduates with management and leaderships skills is expected to accelerate as globalization continues. In addition to utilizing these findings in curriculum design, focus groups comprised of business professionals assisted in detailing our management program offerings.
Student-Focused Faculty
Concordia takes pride in its emphasis on teaching and learning. Our focus on our students enables them to develop competency in areas such as communication, motivation, team-building and decision making. Many courses employ case studies or simulations of business problems, issues or dilemmas that students will encounter in the business world. This approach enables students to evaluate their decisions and strategies while learning from others as well.
Practical Orientation
To facilitate a practical as well as theoretical orientation, the program utilizes industry experts to discuss course material which will enable students to begin the important process of building relationships with influential industry leaders. The program is grounded through student evaluations, an external and independent Advisory Committee to ensure quality, a formalized practicum, and ongoing course assessments.
Small Class Sizes
The average class size in the Management program is between 25-30 students. Our small classes and student-focused faculty ensures an engaging learning environment and significant student-professor interaction. Help is available from fellow students and professors when you need it.
Fully-Accredited and Internationally Recognized
The BMgt program meets the standards for business accreditation established by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACBS). Furthermore, Concordia is a member of the Canadian Association for Graduate Studies. Students receive the necessary preparation and academic credential to apply to and pursue Master or Doctoral degrees, or continue studies in a range of business, academic and professional fields and disciplines.
