Biography

Dr. Elbarrad has extensive professional experience in financial and management accounting. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accounts (FCPA) in Alberta and an Associate Member of the Montana Society of Certified Public Accountants. He has also developed and delivered several accounting workshops for executive managers in multiple countries. Furthermore, Dr. Elbarrad has laboured to create numerous accounting courses for the undergraduate and postgraduate levels at several universities and has received Teaching Excellence awards from many of these institutions. Currently, he is the Interim Dean of Management at CUE.

In 2021, Dr. Elbarrad was honored with the L.S. Rosen Outstanding Educator Award, presented by the Canadian Academic Accounting Association (CAAA). This prestigious award “recognizes an educator’s contributions to Canadian accounting education through excellence in teaching, educational innovation, publications, student mentorship, and active involvement in professional and academic societies and activities.”

Research Interests

Dr. Elbarrad’s main goal in research is to make a difference in the business community and add value to the different stakeholders. Accordingly, the research interests are mainly related to creating an impact. The current research interests are focused in the following areas:

  • Stocks Prices Prediction Research

Publications

Dr. Elbarrad has participated in peer reviews for universities in both Canada and Saudi Arabia. He has authored numerous publications, including research articles in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
