Micperry Iwezulu is graduating with a Master of Information Systems Assurance Management. He has several years of professional experience in internal audit, branch operations management, risk management, and compliance within the financial services industry.
His academic journey at CUE was driven by a passion for cybersecurity, governance, and assurance, particularly in response to the evolving regulatory landscape shaped by the rapid digital transformation that was accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Beyond academics, he is completing his term as Vice President of Finance and Services for the Graduate Students’ Association. Also, he is the outgoing Graduate Teaching Assistant for Forensic Accounting & Fraud Examination. He previously held the same role for the Financial Accounting & Analysis for Information Systems Auditors and Internal Audit Theory and Application courses. Successfully balancing these roles with his studies, he mentors first-year graduate students, honed his leadership and multitasking skills, and actively contributed to the university graduate students’ community.
As he transitions into the field, his goal is to leverage his expertise in information systems assurance and cybersecurity to help organizations identify and mitigate security and privacy risks, enhance governance frameworks, and optimize processes to align with regulatory requirements and business objectives.

I am Robert Ipu, an OT Cybersecurity Specialist with over 10 years of professional experience in the industry. I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Information Systems Security Management (MISSM) degree at the Concordia University of Edmonton.
Before joining Concordia, I worked as an Integration and Network Security Specialist at the Kenya Pipeline Company, tasked with administering and securing the company’s industrial control systems. To better serve this role, I pursued and successfully obtained IT industry gold standard certifications in security and networking, i.e., the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), among others. I also played a vital role in the design, blueprint and installation and commissioning of key process control and automation projects in collaboration with various vendors at their headquarters in Canada, India, South Africa, Israel, The United Kingdom, Sweden and Germany.
When I am not keeping busy with school or work, you will find me taking long walks at the various parks around the city. I also enjoy road trips and sightseeing.

Tseide earned her BA in English and Drama at CUE and was also the student’s association president. These experiences led her to realize her love of managing and organizing people. Initially concerned that her undergrad may be unsuitable for entry into an IT program, she consulted with the Dean of Management (Alison Yacyshyn) and Professor (Shawn Thompson) and was encouraged by both to apply.
The combination of both management and technical training in the MISSM program have provided Tseide with a unique and valuable skillset which she looks forward to using in industry after graduation in 2024.
