Before You Arrive
Ensure that you have the proper documentation with you:
- Valid passport
- Study permit
- Air ticket with final destination to Edmonton
- Vaccination certificates (if required)
Ensure that you have enough money to cover your expenses in Edmonton. It is always handy to have some cash with you upon arrival to pay for the expenses of the first few days (taxi from the airport, food, etc.).
Other important things to remember:
- Proper medical insurance is required
- Obtain personal insurance to cover your cash and belongings (recommended)
- Don’t forget medication (if applicable)
- Carry on your emergency contact list
- If you will be under the age of 18 upon arrival to Canada, make sure to read the information at the bottom of this page
Concordia University of Edmonton does not provide transportation to and from the airport.
- Route 747 – $5
Edmonton Transit System’s (ETS) Route 747 is an express bus service that runs every half hour between Edmonton International Airport (EIA) and the Century Park bus and LRT station, providing transit connections across the city. This bus service runs every day of the week starting at 4:10 AM from Century Park and 4:34 AM from EIA. To reach Concordia University of Edmonton, take the LRT from Century Park to Coliseum LRT Station. Price is $5 each way. Please note that you will have to walk about 15 minutes from Coliseum LRT Station to Concordia.
- Anytime Taxi – $58
Anytime Taxi has agreed to a fixed rate of 58$ (tip to the driver not included) for a ride from the airport to Concordia University of Edmonton for one person. If you would like to register for an airport pickup, please fill out the Airport pickup form and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org at least 5 days before arrival.

Minors as International Students
International students who will be under the age of 18 as of the first instructional day of their first semester at Concordia University of Edmonton must have a Custodian who lives in Alberta. You may be unable to access health insurance coverage if you do not arrange for a Custodian who lives in Alberta.
Concordia cannot assist you in making arrangements for a Custodian in Alberta. You can find more information on how to make legal arrangements for a custodian on the Government of Canada website.
