Sustainable Earth Resources and Geoscience (SERG) minor offers an exploration of components of our planet and an intersection of Earth systems and sustainable use of planetary resources. Through a blend of theoretical coursework and hands-on experiences, students will gain insight into geological processes, use of Earth resources, evolution of the Solar System, current and future energy challenges, and Earth mapping techniques. The curriculum emphasizes the importance of energy conservation strategies and the application of geoscientific knowledge to address global challenges such as climate change and biodiversity loss.
The requirements of 18 credits can be fulfilled by taking 6 courses in Earth Science or a combination of courses in Earth Science, Environmental Science, and Physics.
