At Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE), the Board of Governors is the authority for all university policy documents, in accordance with the Concordia University of Edmonton Act. The Board of Governors retains the authority to establish governance policies, and delegates the authority to establish academic and administrative policies to the General Faculties Council and the President & Vice-Chancellor, respectively.
At CUE, we have the unique ability to develop and review university policy documents efficiently, without sacrificing quality or compromising the integrity of our internal processes. We have implemented a systematic and integrated university-wide approach that ensures university policy document development and review is intentional, well-supported, and serves the CUE community.
University policy documents are established, revised, and rescinded according to a simple five-step process that is applied to all university policy documents, as illustrated below:
A key component of CUE’s strategic approach to university policy document development and review is the creation of an institutional Policy Developers’ Toolkit, available to employees. The resources in this toolkit support the work of our policy developers and can be accessed in CUE Connect.
