*ENVH 561 is the 12-week practicum portion of the program. Students will gain practical skills while working under the supervision of the certified Public Health Inspector in a health authority anywhere in Canada. The successful completion of the practicum is required to be eligible to sit the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspector’s exam to obtain a Certificate in Public Health Inspection. Please note that ENVH 561 must be taken in order to sit the CIPHI certification exam. http://www.ciphi.ca/careers/board-of-certification/ Please also note that ENVH 561 (Field Experience in Public Health Inspection) is not available to International students.
**ENVH 571 is a supervised research project on a public health topic that fulfills the program’s course requirements in order to graduate. Students who complete ENVH 571 typically intend to pursue a career in public health but not as a public health inspector.
