Mary Jane James

As the Chief Executive Officer of the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton (SACE), James has been a tireless champion for those affected by sexual violence, driving significant change and expanding services to better meet the needs of vulnerable individuals across Northern Alberta.
James’s leadership at SACE has been transformative, overseeing the growth of the organization from a modest budget to a thriving service provider with revenue of over $8 million. Under her guidance, SACE has expanded its core services, including the introduction of new programs that offer counselling, crisis intervention, and education. She has ensured that SACE’s offerings are accessible to more people, providing critical support to those facing trauma. James’s focus on creating an inclusive and supportive environment has made SACE a trusted and essential resource for survivors.
