Kevin Sherwood

Kevin Sherwood is an internationally recognized composer, sound designer, and creative innovator whose work has shaped one of the world’s most influential entertainment franchises while making a lasting impact on Concordia University of Edmonton’s artistic and academic community.
As Lead Sound Designer and Composer at Treyarch, Sherwood is best known for his music and sound design for the Call of Duty franchise, specifically its iconic Zombies mode, which has reached hundreds of millions of listeners worldwide through streaming and digital platforms.
Sherwood’s relationship with CUE spans nearly a decade and includes some of the most significant artistic events in the university’s history. In 2015 and again in 2024, his compositions were performed on campus in the sold-out Zombie Choral Canon concerts, with the 2024 performance drawing one of the largest audiences for an event in Tegler Hall.
Arranged for choir and performed by Concordia University of Edmonton students, these works demonstrated the depth, complexity, and musical sophistication of Sherwood’s compositions and offered students a rare opportunity to engage with contemporary music of global cultural relevance.
In addition to these performances, Sherwood delivered keynote lectures at CUE conferences including Religion and Pop Culture, and Music and Mind, where he explored the philosophical, emotional, and cognitive dimensions of music. His lectures were noted for making complex musical and philosophical ideas accessible to non-specialist audiences while maintaining the highest academic and artistic standards. Students and faculty alike described his presence on campus as inspiring, generous, and deeply engaging.
Through his creative achievements, academic engagement, and meaningful contributions to Concordia University of Edmonton, Kevin Sherwood exemplifies artistic excellence, innovation, and the power of creative work to inspire learning and connection.
His influence spans music, technology, and education, embodying the spirit of inquiry and creativity celebrated by the university.
