What expenses are eligible for Research funds?

The Office of Research Services has developed a list of eligible expenses for research activities. For this, we have incorporated elements from:
- Internal Policies related to Research, Research Funding (internal and external) and Internal Procedures for Expense Claims.
- The Tri-Agency Financial Administration Guide.
- Canada Revenue Agency.
- Principles of Accountability in Financial Administration.
The list will be updated as required. The most recent version can be found in our website, and under this link.
Retroactive expenses (i.e., those incurred before the effective start date of an award) are non-eligible, unless they are explicitly allowed by the sponsor in writing. CUE-adjudicated awards do not allow retroactive expenses.
