Thunder Men’s Volleyball Come Within ‘Inches’ of Victory

Posted on: Nov 23, 2015

The Thunder Men's Volleyball team did everything but win in a set of weekend road games in Grande Prairie. The guys lost a hard fought match on Friday in the 5th set, coming within 3 points of getting their first win of the season (25-21, 23-25, 25-22, 23-25 and 15-12). "We played good enough to win but couldn't finish when we needed to in the 5th set," stated new Head Coach Luc Jacobson.
Saturday afternoon's tilt was a bit of a different story with the Thunder playing well for 2 of 4 sets but once again, not being able to put together 3 sets to win a match. The final result of the match was a 3-1 decision for GPRC (25-19, 26-28, 25-20 and 25-18).  "They (the Thunder) took some big steps forward, but we still have some work to do to get our first win of the year."
The Thunder will finish off first semester play this weekend with a home and home series against NAIT.  The action at the RKAC will go Friday night at ~ 8 PM.
