The Greatest Possible Being: A Reading

The Institute of Christian Studies and Society presents a reading by Dr. Johnathan Strand, CUE Professor of Philosophy on March 29th from 12:00 pm to 12:50 pm in HA 019. Dr. Strand will read select passages from his book manuscript entitled “The Greatest Possible Being.” This beautiful and poetic text is a presentation of Perfect Being Theology, a philosophical approach that explores the nature of God and the notion of a Perfect Being. The reading and discussion will be easy to understand and presented at the popular level, so all can enjoy, not just philosophers! The goal of the book, and reading, is to inspire the audience with a vision of what “The Greatest Possible Being” would be like. The goal is to inspire others with this vision—derived from the work of Anselm of Canterbury—as Dr. Strand has himself been inspired and moved by this vision. Come for the philosophical and aesthetic experience.
