This agreement marks an important step in expanding international opportunities for students aspiring to enter the medical profession.
Since 1921, Concordia University of Edmonton has been part of a growing Edmonton and a dynamic educational institution in the province of Alberta, Canada, known for its commitment to academic excellence, student support, and community engagement. Offering undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs, CUE provides a learning environment where students are encouraged to become independent thinkers and ethical leaders.
Since 1978, American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC) and Ross University School of Medicine (Ross Med) have graduated more than 24,000 MDs. Based on the Caribbean islands of Sint Maarten and Barbados, respectively, MD students complete two years of medical sciences followed by two years of clinical education within an extensive network of affiliate hospitals across the United States. Upon successful completion of these programs, graduates are eligible to enter residency programs in both the U.S. and Canada. AUC and Ross Med are part of Adtalem Global Education, a global education provider.
Through this partnership, eligible graduates from CUE can apply to AUC and Ross Med to pursue their MD degree with several exclusive benefits. These include a waived application fee, guaranteed admissions interview, consideration for scholarships, and a one-time CUE Partner Scholarship award of $9,500 USD upon enrollment.
“This partnership represents an exciting opportunity for our graduates to take a meaningful step toward their medical careers,” said Dr. Barb van Ingen, Provost and Vice President Academic at Concordia University of Edmonton. “We are proud to collaborate with Ross Med and AUC to create new avenues for global learning and medical education that will benefit both our students and the broader healthcare community.”
The agreement will remain in effect for an initial term of three years with automatic renewal options, reinforcing a long-term commitment to educational collaboration.
