Mental Health Week 2016

Posted on: May 4, 2016

Mental Health Week is an annual national event that takes place during the first week in May to encourage people from all walks of life to learn, talk, reflect and engage with others on all issues relating to mental health. In 2015, Concordia created a Mental Health Action Team (MHAT), comprised of key stakeholders responsible for addressing mental health on campus. The MHAT looks at mental health more broadly than just the absence of mental illness, but instead how to build and sustain mental wellness and flourishing. Staying mentally healthy is like staying physically fit – it requires a little effort every day.Mental health means striking a balance in all aspects of your life: social, physical, spiritual, economic and mental. Reaching a balance is a learning process, and if you would like to talk with someone, Concordia offers free and confidential counselling to students. To book an appointment, contact Student Life at studentlife@concordia.ab.ca or 780-479-9241. #GetLoud
