Title: Genocide in God’s Name? On confronting the problem of the Canaanites
The Bible depicts God commanding the Israelites to carry out actions against other ancient peoples which meet the legal definition of genocide.
For Christians, this fact can create a significant problem regarding the conventional moral view that genocide is a morally abhorrent crime against humanity.
In this lecture, Dr. Rauser will lay out the depth of the problem, critique an attempt to defuse the problem, and offer principles to guide further reflection.
