Dr. Cynthia Friedman

Posted on: Jan 7, 2019

Dear CUE Community,

It is with great sadness that I inform the CUE community of the sudden death of Dr. Cynthia (Cindy) Friedman on Monday December 24, 2018, in Penticton, BC where she had gone to visit with her family. Cindy came to CUE from Thomson Rivers University and was teaching in the biological and environmental sciences department. Cindy was a renowned researcher and penned the Mistletoe article on the CUE homepage (https://concordia.ab.ca/mistletoe/) that was posted online over the Christmas break. A news item on her passing can be found on https://www.kamloopsthisweek.com/news/cynthia-ross-friedman-dies-suddenly-at-age-47-1.23574481.

Cindy will be greatly missed by our students and her colleagues in the department as well as CUE at large. Should any student need help, please see Mirna Hanic in the Student Success Centre. Faculty and staff  can access help through the HR department.

May her soul rest in peace.
