Theatre at Concordia and the Concordia School of Music are excited to collaborate in producing their first opera, the 17th Century English Chamber Opera, Dido and Aeneas.
Set against a backdrop of war and political turmoil, this tragic opera tells the tale of doomed love between Dido, the widowed Queen of Carthage and Aeneas, a prince of Troy. The lovers come from different worlds and strong social forces conspire against their relationship. The student singers are thrilled to be joined in this contemporary staging of the opera by the Baroque period performance ensemble La Folia.
