CUE’s IT programs to receive $1.5 million from the GoA

Posted on: May 13, 2022

Yesterday, the Government of Alberta announced Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) will receive $1.5 million of funding through the Targeted Enrolment Expansion program.

The money will go towards increasing domestic enrolments in CUE’s information technology programs over the next three years—80 seats in the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program and 40 seats in the Master of Science in Information Technology program.

“Thank you to the GoA for the support to our excellent graduates in information technology programs,” says Dr. Patrick Kamau, Dean of Science. “This funding comes at an opportune time, when we are expanding these programs.”

The province’s Targeted Enrolment Expansion program invests in new seats in high-demand programs in post-secondary institutions. This program is a key part of the recently announced Alberta at Work initiative.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to prepare our students for meaningful careers in technology and boost this already vibrant sector of our economy,” says President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Tim Loreman.
