CUE affirms commitment to LGBTQ students, staff, and faculty.

Posted on: Apr 29, 2016

Concordia University of Edmonton affirms our commitment to providing an inclusive, welcoming, safe, respectful, and non-discriminatory environment for all students, staff, faculty, and visiting community members. This is enshrined in our 'Sexual orientation and gender identity' policy and procedures. Central to this policy is the idea that at CUE we value diversity, and view it as a great strength. To quote the policy:

"All members of the campus community have the right to learn and work in an environment free of discrimination, prejudice, and harassment. This right is guaranteed under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and the Alberta Human Rights Act. These rights shall be supported, and enforced so that all members of the campus community may work together in an atmosphere of mutual respect and appreciation for individual differences. Concordia University of Edmonton will not tolerate harassment, bullying, intimidation, or discrimination on any basis, including a person's actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression."
