CNU Education Study Abroad Program at CUE Concluded

Posted on: Aug 27, 2018

The Centre for Chinese Studies (CCS) proudly announces that the Capital Normal University (CNU) Education Study Abroad Program concluded last Friday on August 24, 2018.  This is the last and longest group (July 13 to August 25, 2018) of the summer program conducted by the CCS.

This is the 2nd year for the CCS to work with the Faculty of Education to deliver this summer program for Early Child Education undergraduate students.  The purpose of the program is for the Early Child Education students to experience higher education in an international setting.  Twenty CNU students participated in this year’s program.  All the graduates will become future kindergarten teachers in Beijing. They will make a difference in early child education and hopefully connect Beijing and Edmonton in kindergarten education.

Warm greetings and congratulations were given to the students by the President and Vice Chancellor Dr. Tim Loreman, VP External Affairs and International Relations Dr. Manfred Zeuch, Dean of Education Dr. Edgar Schmidt, and Director of the Library Dr. Dan Mirau.  Dr. Brent Bradford presented his comments on the students’ performance on behalf of the instructors, half in English and half in Chinese.  Friends and local Canadian classmates of the students also attended the completion ceremony.  For a recap of the program, please enjoy the video online.

Thank you to the Faculty of Education and Faculty of Arts.  Also, thank you to the supporting staff in — Admissions, Alumni Relations, Aramark, Human Resources, International Office, Finance, Library, Plant Operations, Registration, Residence, Security and Student Life and Learning.
