Adding to the list of CUE Authors

Our Dean of Education, Dr. Edgar Schmidt, has published a chapter in the book Applied Interdisciplinarity in Scholar Practitioner Programs (Cham, Switzerland: Springer Nature. pp. 47-72.) by S, Pulla & B Schissel (Eds.).
The chapter, entitled “Schools and Community Organizations: The Challenges of Integrating Education and Wraparound Services for Children“, examines the challenges of undertaking rigorous academic study and research while working at a senior administrative level in the public education system. As an administrator he discusses how managerialism and neoliberal structures conspire against social justice reforms to improve a “wraparound” model of services for children, youth and families in the context of schools in Alberta.
