How you can help keep CUE safe

Now that the fall semester is well underway, it’s a good idea to ensure you (and your colleagues!) are taking the necessary steps to safeguard our CUE assets and protect students.

Here are some key actions you should be taking everyday:

  • Lock up your classroom, boardroom or office when you are away. This includes during your bathroom and coffee breaks.
  • Never leave your CUE assets such as laptop, smartphone or tablet or your personal belongings such as purse, wallet or backpack, unattended. Lock it up or have a colleague keep an eye on it while you’re away.
  • Stay out of construction zones. Some parts of our new Academic building look finished but they have not been deemed safe for occupancy yet.
  • Lock your vehicle and keep valuables out of sight and covered and locked in your trunk.
  • Lock your bikes with a good quality lock that can’t easily be cut or broken. A U lock with a cable lock together works well.
  • Know your surroundings and do not place yourself in dangerous situations.
  • Add Campus Security, 780-479-8761 to your phone’s contacts. They can provide a security walk after hours to your vehicle when you need it.
  • Dial 5555 from an internal phone or call Campus Security if you see anything suspicious.
  • Regularly review all the tips found on our Security Tips page.
