Update from Aramark

Posted on: Jul 26, 2018

Aramark recently announced a commitment to significantly reduce single-use disposable plastics across their global food service operations by 2022. As part of their commitment to stop waste before it is generated, this action offers a holistic strategy to address single-use plastics, starting with straws and stirrers.  In September they will begin eliminating plastic straws across Concordia University of Edmonton operations. While plastic straws will no longer be available, they will provide straws from an alternative material upon request to customers who request one. They will also be launching a consumer marketing campaign to encourage customers to opt out of asking for a straw for their beverage. Please see attached for more details.
