Thunder Hockey Earn Split on Saskatchewan Road Trip

Posted on: Feb 23, 2015

In their longest road trip of the season, the Thunder Hockey team travelled to Caronport, SK this past weekend to take on the Briercrest Clippers. On Friday night the Thunder fell 3 to 0 to the Clippers. Although they team played hard, they could not solve Briercrest Goalie.
On Saturday afternoon, the Thunder battled through adversity and came away with a 7 to 6 win over the Clippers. Despite being undermanned, the Thunder played with great jump and intensity. The Thunder Penalty Kill was tested often and succeeded against the Power Play of the Clippers. A highlight of the game was Kegan Bowman scoring all 3 second period goals for the Thunder for his first career hat trick. Brandon Halls and Tyler Stevenson each had 2 goals for the Thunder and Colin Minardi added 3 assists.
The Thunder Hockey team would also like to congratulate teammate and Defenseman Connor Reinson who won the ACAC Men's Singles Badminton Gold Medal. His teammates and coaches are very proud and wish him good luck at Nationals.
Reinson and the rest of his Thunder teammates will conclude the 2014-15 season with a pair of games against the NAIT Ooks.  The puck drops at 7 PM on Friday night at NAIT and the season – and home – finale will go at 8:15 PM on Saturday night at Clareview Arena.
