Szemerãdi Receives Abel Prize From His Majesty King Harald

Endre Szemerãdi received the 2012 Abel Prize from King Harald at a ceremony in Oslo, Norway on May 22. Szemerdi was awarded the Abel Prize “for his fundamental contributions to discrete mathematics and theoretical computer science, and in recognition of the profound and lasting impact of these contributions on additive number theory and ergodic theory.”
