Students “Make Their Mark,” raising funds for scholarships and bursaries.
Posted on: Nov 4, 2011Concordia students introduce Make your Mark – a fundraising campaign for scholarships and bursaries.
On November 2nd, Concordia students gathered in the Tegler Student Centre to introduce the Make your Mark campaign. The Concordia Student Challenge is about students helping students.
When students make a donation it is matched by the Allard Foundation, and the Concordia Alumni Association, effectively doubling their contribution. They make their mark by helping future students afford Concordia’s excellent university programs. Students will also literally make “a Mark” — their Mark is one of 12 small finger-puppet designs created for the fundraising campaign, including a superhero, astronaut, or pirate. Since donations can be any size, students can make more than one mark, figuratively and literally, and collect all 12 “Marks” designs.
The focus of “Make Your Mark” is on participation in Concordia’s community. Building a collection of Marks helps create a legacy, providing scholarship and bursary opportunities for current and new students.
Donations can be made online at concordia.ab.ca/make-your-mark. Everyone who makes a donation before December 1st, 2011, is entered into a draw for a pair of tickets to the January 31 game, Edmonton Oilers vs Colorado.
