Short Staffed Thunder Hockey Drop Two to MacEwan

Posted on: Oct 20, 2014

This past weekend the banged up and undermanned Concordia Thunder Hockey team fought hard in two losses to the MacEwan Griffins. On Friday night Brett Richards and Kegan Bowman both scored in a tight game that saw the Thunder go down 5 to 2. Joel Wilson made 44 saves in his first start of the year for the Thunder.
Saturday night saw the Thunder drop a 6 to 2 decision to the Griffins. Blake Boaz and Tyler Stevenson both scored for the Thunder and Joel Wilson turned away 40 shots for Concordia.
The Thunder will return to practice this week and look to get healthy and continue to improve as a team, ahead of 2 games this coming weekend vs Portage College. Friday night the Thunder play at home at 8:15 PM and Saturday in Lac La Biche.
