Scholarship Success for Concordia Student

Manal Assaf is a Bachelor of Science student and the recipient of a $10,000 McDonald’s scholarship. Manal also received a $1,000 Rotary Club of Edmonton Northeast Scholarship through the 2014-2015 Concordia General Awards competition. Congratulations Manal!
Being a part-time manager at McDonald’s while attending post-secondary is definitely a challenge. With the help of McDonald’s, I was able to cross one worry off my list as this scholarship has helped me immensely with tuition and books. Concordia is hands down the best decision I have made, although I was a little nervous being one of the only Muslims, mainly wearing the hijab, I didn’t know what to expect. This year, I have met some of the most incredible, inspiring student and staff who have made this past year an unforgettable one. The atmosphere and experiences I had this year has definitely made me into a more grown up, open minded individual. I’m an incredibly proud of Concordia and recommend it to everyone! Thanks Concordia!
