International Open Access Week is an international movement to raise the visibility of academic scholarship by eliminating paywalls and providing free and open access to scholarly works such as journal publications and data sets.

This year’s theme, Open for Climate Justice, “seeks to encourage connection and collaboration among the climate movement and the international open community” as the rapid exchange of knowledge across boundaries is necessary when tackling global issues such as climate change.
