For over 100 years, Concordia has been an integral part of Alberta’s educational landscape. More than just an academic institution, CUE is a community of scholars, dreamers, and doers fueled by curiosity, purpose, belonging and acceptance.
Our board of governors and executive team value every person who is part of the fabric of CUE, whether you are a student, faculty member, or non-faculty staff. Each of you contribute to what makes our university so special and unique.
At CUE we care about our students and employees and want to ensure they have the best experience possible. That’s why we prioritize investments in teaching, research, student resources, and campus infrastructure. It is our responsibility to ensure the university offers top-quality programs that are attractive and competitive and that we have excellent faculty to deliver those programs.
Like many universities across Canada, CUE has a collective agreement with our faculty. Collective bargaining is the process under which the negotiation of these agreements takes place. It is a routine component of labour relations.
With the current collective agreement expiring June 30 of this year, I want to let you know that bargaining between CUE and the Concordia University of Edmonton Faculty Association (CUEFA) is anticipated to begin some time after April 1st.
As we approach collective bargaining with CUEFA, our goal is to reach an agreement as soon as possible that is fair and equitable to both parties. Our priorities mentioned above will always guide our approach at the bargaining table.
