Event details

The event will feature:

Keynote session: Dr. Martin Ferguson Pell – Innovation and entrepreneurship

Dr. Martin Ferguson Pell is a biomedical engineer, credentialed clinical scientist and former Dean of the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Alberta.

Recently he and a group of colleagues established a start-up, Click&Push Accessibility Inc. which is a founding member of the University of Alberta Accelerator. Click&Push is a social enterprise that provides information about university campus accessibility.  He continues to be active in promoting leadership skills development and Mentorship for undergraduate and graduate students as they transition to their early-stage careers.

More about Dr. Ferguson Pell:

Dr. Pell also co-directs the University of Alberta’s Rehabilitation Robotics Laboratory and is a Principal Investigator at the University of Alberta’s inter-faculty Smart Network. He was the Founding Vice-Principal of the Peter Lougheed Leadership College at the University of Alberta which he developed in close collaboration with former Prime Minister Kim Campbell. He is also CEO of the Alberta Bone and Joint Health Institute which is a not-for-profit organization and a trusted custodian of clinical data that the Institute uses in collaboration with the Bone and Joint Health Strategic Clinical Network to promote improvements in care through innovation at the system level. He is a Fellow of Rehabilitation Engineering Society of America, a Chartered Physicist, a Certified Clinical Scientist and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
