Indigenous Peoples Conference: Call for Papers | The Canadian Centre for Scholarship and the Christian Faith

The Canadian Centre for Scholarship and the Christian Faith, in conjunction with the Concordia Indigenous Student Council, is pleased to host the 2018 conference: Indigenous Peoples and the Christian Faith: A New Way Forward on May 4–5, 2018.

Academic Papers and Presentations on the theme of Indigenous Peoples and the Christian Faith are welcome, as well as papers drawing from a range of interdisciplinary approaches in the Humanities and Social Sciences, including philosophy, theology, psychology, sociology, history, culture, art and ethics. We invite papers on a broad range of topics; this list is neither exhaustive nor intended to be restrictive: Indigenous Peoples and Biblical Studies, Indigenous Peoples and Theology, Indigenous Peoples and the Church, Indigenous Peoples and Education, Indigenous Peoples and Politics, Indigenous Peoples and Government Policy, Indigenous Peoples and Ethics, Indigenous Peoples and the Arts, Indigenous Peoples and Law, Indigenous Peoples and Literature, Indigenous Peoples and Philosophy, Indigenous Peoples and Colonialism, Indigenous Peoples and Postcolonialism, Truth and Reconciliation, and Indigenous Christianity. As an open and inclusive academic institution, we also welcome proposals related to Indigenous Spirituality.

Artwork and Posters may be along the theme of Indigenous Peoples and the Christian Faith: Music, Poetry, Drama, Dance and the Visual Arts including Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Design. Indigenous story-tellers and performance artists are especially welcome. As an open and inclusive academic institution, we also invite artwork related to Indigenous Spirituality. Artists may sell their artwork at the conference.

Vernon Press will be publishing the proceeds of this conference. Scholars who want their original unpublished papers in this book must submit them for adjudication by August 31, 2018 to the editor Dr. Bill Anderson at bill.anderson@concordia.ab.caScholars need not present at the conference to submit their papers for consideration.
