Fringe Festival coming to CUE
Posted on: Aug 13, 2019Our Faculty of Arts is excited that Edmonton’s Fringe Festival is coming to #CUEdmonton!
Bluebirds will be performed by CUE students Teneil Whiskeyjack, Justine Schultz, Darian King, on the Al & Trish Huehn Auditorium stage from August 15 – 25.
Come and watch them perform!
Bluebirds is a moving, poetic tribute to the women who helped forge a nation on the battlefields of Europe during The Great War. Written by award-winning playwright, Vern Thiessen (and one of CUE’s drama instructors), the play is being directed by Chris Bullough, who directed our production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in 2015.
The play is truly a concerted CUE effort, with Glenda Stirling as movement coach/choreographer, Michael Peng as set designer, and Joseph Hiemstra as our technical and lights director.
Our students round out the team with Stephanie St. Onge as stage manager, Laila Aslund as costume designer and Preston Gray taking care of sound design and composition.
The Fringe Festival runs from August 15 to 25, in various locations across Edmonton, including Concordia University of Edmonton.
