Posted on: Feb 25, 2019Concordia University of Edmonton is delighted to announce that our campus is now the testing centre for the Goethe-Institut examinations. This is the first Goethe-Institut exam location in Edmonton and northern Alberta!
The history between CUE and the Goethe-Institute goes back to 2015. Vice President External Affairs and International Relations, Dr. Manfred Zeuch, signed an MOU of cooperation between our two institutions at this time. Nominated by the Goethe-Institut, he also joined the Germany Today Tour 2016 under the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) scholarship. He was the only representative of Alberta among the 26 participants from North America! CUE also hosted a Goethe-Institut delegation at a German-style Christmas Market in 2018 to promote German culture and language.
The Goethe-Institut is a non-profit German cultural association which operates worldwide. It promotes the study of the German language abroad and encourages international cultural exchange and relations. The Goethe-Institut exams are supported by DAAD and are aimed at people who would like to study at German universities, academics and scientists.
