The CSO presents “Land of the Longing”

The Concordia Symphony Orchestra presents its Winter program “Land of the Longing”. Come join us for an evening of inspiring symphonic music from three titans of the repertoire: Schumann, Beethoven, and Mendelssohn.

The program pulls from the spirited verve of Beethoven’s Egmont overture to the contemplative depiction of Fingal’s cave by Mendelssohn. This musical crossing is centered around Schumann’s iconic symphony no. 3, “Rhenish”. Always inventive and always ahead of its time, this symphony showcases Schumann’s genius at its height but also foreshadows the melancholy traps of the composer’s final years.

The performance will take place on Sunday, March 05 at 3:00 p.m. in Tegler Centre. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students. Special Family Admission: $40 (available at the door only). To reserve your spot, please register at Eventbrite.
